A smoke-free, clean double room suite – with private bathroom – in southern Arlington. This Arlington location is perfect for history buffs and business travelers looking to explore the DC area with ease - along with the comforts of home!

Stay in a 1904 Craftsman house in a quiet neighborhood. You have access to your own private rooms and bathroom. Hardwood floors throughout lend a farmhouse charm. First bedroom has antique wood furniture. Second bedroom is also a "sitting room" with 55" Smart TV, work desk, microwave and mini-fridge.

Start your day with a refreshing shower in your private bathroom (with a skylight!) and a hot cup of coffee or tea. After a busy day of business meetings or exploring D.C. drift off to sleep in an antique bed with a fluffy down comforter. Or unwind in the sitting room playing a video game or catching up on your latest Netflix obsession on the Smart TV. In the evening, relax on the front porch in a rocking chair with a beverage and watch the wind blow through the trees.

The guest rooms are in the front of the house on the second floor and feel very private and almost self-contained. Our living space is mostly on the ground floor and in the back. There’s a chance we may cross paths in the foyer but you can come and go without any fuss.

Our house...
The original house was built in 1904 in a farmhouse style. At the time, there was probably just open land surrounding it. An addition was built on to the back in the 1980s and much of the property was most recently renovated in 2018. There’s a large front porch that can be enjoyed year-round.

Our residence is on a cul de sac in a quiet, unpretentious residential neighborhood that is bounded by a golf course. It is near a highway that grants quick access to everything Washington D.C. has to offer.

The area...
Arlington is a great neighborhood from which to explore everything Northern Virginia and D.C. have to offer. It’s a middle-class D.C. suburb popular with families and young professionals. It’s just across the Potomac River from D.C. and is easily accessible from Reagan National Airport. There are plenty of things to see in the local area: the Pentagon and nearby 9/11 Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, Iwo Jima Memorial… the list goes on and on. With several bus routes just minutes away and a subway station 3 miles up the road, you have easy car-free access to the local metro area.

There is a small market within a few minutes’ walk of our house, plus Shirlington Village about 1 mile away that has a number of restaurants and cute shops.

The nearby Columbia Pike neighborhood is bursting with any type of food you’re looking for: Irish pub, Mediterranean, ramen, Ethiopian, South American, Asian, pizza or even fast food. There really is something for everyone!

What about the rooms?
You get private use of two bright cozy rooms that come with full-size beds (one is a futon that doubles as a couch), cotton bedding, a fluffy feather duvet, flat-screen smart TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, fridge, microwave, and private bathroom (toiletries available).

You’ll also find a clothes steamer and a hair dryer to save you the hassle of bringing your own. There’s a surge-protected power hub in Bedroom 1 which means you can easily charge all your USB-connected devices (iPhones, Kindles, etc.).

On-street parking is also available at no extra cost.

Please note: Access to the kitchen or main floor is not included.

What else?
We want to do everything we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. So that means there are Metro SmarTrip cards for use on the subway. Just leave the same amount of credit on them when you leave. The fridge is stocked with water and snacks are available to help you settle in.

And if you want restaurant recommendations, or directions, or just some advice… just let us know. We’re happy to help because it really is all about the details.

Thanks for reading.

Guest access
You'll have your own bedroom, sitting room/2nd bedroom, and bathroom on the second floor of the house. There is no access to the kitchen or first floor other than the foyer/front door entrance.

Other things to note
By booking, you are acknowledging and agreeing to abide by the house rules. Please make sure you read them. If you break the rules you might just find yourself being turned out.

I’m Caryn, and she’s Heidi.
We live in south Arlington’s hilly Columbia Heights neighborhood with our cat, Henry. We’re your average couple who like good food, good wine, and great company. We would rather have a good dinner any day of the week. We love to visit wineries in Northern Virginia (ask us for recommendations!) and bourbon bars.

Interaction with guests
We live in the house but it’s a fairly private set up since the guest rooms are upstairs in the front of the house. The only area we may cross paths is when you come and go through the front door. But we are around to help with questions, etc.
