Overview
We invite you to enjoy an authentic Oregon experience by staying in The Forest Suite of our farmhouse, located on our woodland acreage in West Linn ... minutes from Portland, but surrounded by trees, fields, and farmland.

We invite you to enjoy an authentic Oregon experience by staying in The Forest Suite of our farmhouse, located on our woodland acreage in West Linn. Our private, five-acre sustainable tree farm is in a great location, just five minutes from West Linn’s historic Willamette Area (with charming restaurants and a beautiful riverside park), 10 minutes from Bridgeport Village (featuring a mix of local, regional and national shops, a wide range of restaurants and an 18-screen cinema), and 15 minutes from downtown Portland.

Our acreage is planted with mature Douglas Firs and young Christmas trees, and abuts a year-around woodland stream with old-growth Cedars. A perimeter path surrounds the woodland, along the stream, and features seating and picnic areas. A cleared meadow features a firepit, and a picnic area with a view of the adjacent equestrienne center. More improvements are underway all the time!

Our farmhouse was built as a replica of the large red barn you’ll see at the base of our hill. The Forest Suite is furnished in farmhouse style. Amenities include:

* Separate entrance
* Adjacent parking for two cars
* One bedroom with two comfortable queen beds
* Private covered deck with forest views and porch swing
* Dining table and chairs on deck
* Television with DirectTV
* Full bath with tub and shower
* Mini-library with books about the Pacific NW
* Boots and umbrellas to borrow for farm walks

Guests are welcome to roam the five-acre grounds with paths, picnic tables, and a fire pit (available for guest use).

We pride ourselves on being accessible to guests for communication and to accommodate special circumstances. I make it a point to personally welcome guests and then give them the privacy and/or interaction at the level they are comfortable with.

We are in a semi-rural area, surrounded by trees yet minutes from a major freeway. We are also one mile from a charming historic small town Main Street with 10+ independent restaurants and pubs.

Because we are semi/rural, there is no public transportation to the farm, but Uber is available and public transportation into Portland is about two miles away.

Hello! My husband, Steve and I are happy to host you at the Forest Suite on our little tree farm! I am a freelance graphic designer (including copywriting and editing), an avid reader, an involved grandmother and a volunteer at several local charities. I'm interested in many things, and am an optimist about most. I'm friendly and generally accepting of everyone, and will be happy to chat with you about anything you may find helpful during your stay—but will give you privacy as well. I have MANY life mottos—too many to list! "Always be a little kinder than necessary," "Everything is going to be alright—maybe not today, but eventually." I look forward to meeting our guests and helping them have a great experience!

House Rules
As you begin your stay here in the Forest Suite, here are some things to know (this information will also be in your room in a binder, which will also include information on local attractions):

Hosts: Steve and Nancy Scott. Feel free to call Nancy for any reason, at any time. My cell # is 503.997.2230. There is no landline at the farm. If you can’t reach me, call Steve at 503.807.1441. We have a large family with grown children who come and go. You may see some grandchildren running around, too!

We have two small dogs that you will no doubt see here—Maddie, a Chihuahua-Corgi mix, and Napoleon, a French Bulldog. They will be overly friendly (especially Napoleon) but will calm down in just a little while. They are just happy to see you!

Wireless Internet: Password for wireless internet in the suite is tobyscott.

Kitchenette: The suite includes a bedroom, a bathroom, and a livingroom that includes a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker.

Closet: The bedroom includes two utility closets that we also use for storage. The guest closet includes a fan, an alarm clock, board games, extra pillows, and extra linens.

Heat and AC: Although there is a thermostat in the room, please don’t use it. The house has a central system now that we operate from upstairs. But if it is too hot or too cold, please let us know and we’ll adjust it! There are ceiling vents that you can open and close to regulate the temp as well.

Linens: There are extra towels in the guest closet.

Parking: The two parking spots just outside the suite’s kitchen window are for guests. We do ask that you drive slowly when you come up the gravel driveway; it gets dusty!

Security: The door into the main house will be kept locked. Your key opens the front door, which also includes a deadbolt.

If you have any questions about your stay at the Suite, please give me a call! We’re glad you’re here.

Getting around

Because we are semi/rural, there is no public transportation to the farm, but Uber is available and public transportation into Portland is about two miles away.
