Desert Sands Vintage RV Park est. in 1960 and is the oldest RV park in Borrego Springs which has mostly vintage trailers, some of the best landscaping for miles, breathtaking views, epic sunsets, bright starry nights and happy guests. If you've ever wanted to stay in a cool vintage trailer, this heaven. The pool is warm year round. Borrego Springs has warm sunny weather year round so if you love the outdoors you will enjoy staying here. We have guests that have been coming back for years.

Please read my reviews and the kind words guests have written about this location.

If this vintage trailer is booked please look at my seven other vintage trailer listed on AirBnB on the same property.

"Blue Bertha" is an original 1956 Ideal vintage trailer that has been totally refurbished with new paint, hardwood floors, kitchen, tiles, new kitchenware etc. She is 60 years old!! Lots of storage for your belongings. There is a fold down futon bed in the living area and a full size bed in the rear bedroom. The kitchen is stocked with all the cookware you need to make tasty meals. The bathroom has a full sink, real house toilet and a 1/2 size bathtub with shower head. It sits on its own private space right on the deserts edge of Anza Borrego Park, close to the pool, Jacuzzi and laundry room.

The trailer has many windows and has a very airy feeling with spectacular views of the mountains from the living room, kitchen and bedroom. Even though to the untrained eye the desert looks dry and desolate, once you spend a night in the middle of it all you may hear the howl of a coyote in the distance, in the morning you might wake up to the sounds of different kinds of birds, while sitting outside drinking your morning coffee you'll see rabbits, humming birds, lizards etc. Besides the regular bedding we provide on the beds I have put blankets in the closet if you feel a little chilly but with the plug in heater you will be toasty.

Included are all needed bedding, spare blankets, heater, AC, swim and bath towels good size refrigerator, BBQ, outdoor seating, fireplace and more.

How to find the trailer once inside the park;

As you enter the rv park drive up the center row to the back of the RV park. Turn right and Blue Bertha is on your left behind a red fence.

Keys are in a lock box and checking instructions will be given at the time of your reservation.

You have the use of the vintage trailer and the space that it sits on. You also have access to the pool and Jacuzzi, Tikki hut that has WiFi and the laundry room which takes quarters.

I live in San Diego 78 miles away and try get to the vintage trailer park as much as I can because I love it so much out there. If you need me please feel free to contact me

Desert Sands RV Park is just a stroll to Anza Borrego State Park, the largest in the state , art and culture, restaurants, bars and dining, great views, and the rustic artsy town of Borrego Springs that doesn't even have a traffic light or any big chain stores. There are numerous golf resorts within a 5 mile radius. The state park visitors center is just up the street with an interactive museum that shows how life was in the area millions of years ago. Its a must see!!

There are hundreds of miles of hiking, mountain biking, road biking, off roading close by, mountain views, and points of interest. The state run visitor center us just up the street and has many interesting things regarding life in the pre historic desert.

The drive into town is roughly one mile away. You walk, drive or you can bring your bicycles and start exploring. Behind the RV park is a small mountain where you can take a morning stroll to the top and capture some beautiful images with your camera. The RV park borders Anza Borrego State Park.

The vintage trailer park is a very quiet quaint and tranquil park. Other guests of the park must not be bothered by noise, partying, loud talking or shouting. If you do bring minors please know that this RV park has mostly elderly full time renters that love kids but are accustomed to a very quite place which is the reason they rent in this RV park. Me and Tammy have teenagers that love coming out there as often as they can.

Borrego Springs is a dark sky community meaning there are no bright white lights and people use deep orange lights on homes and buildings so that the stars and moon can shine as bright as possible.

Regarding amenities:-

* The laundry is located at the center of the park and takes quarters.

* Wifi is available in and close to the Tiki Hut and pool area. User Name - DesertRose2 Password woxy1966

* The pool and Jacuzzi are located at the center of the park

* The public showers and bathrooms are at the center of the park if you choose not to shower in the vintage trailer which may be a little cramped for showering.

* Blue Bertha is over 60yrs old (please be gentle with her) with regards to opening and closing the front door, closets and drawers Blue Bertha is not ADA compliant.

I want to earn your 5 star review so if there is anything you need during your stay please let me know and if I can help you out I will try my best to accommodate you.

Hi and thanks for checking out my profile. I was born on South Africa and moved to San Diego in 1986. Me and my family own a rustic furniture import business in San Diego. I have a passion for vintage trailers, Harley motorcycles, exercising, building high powered custom electric bicycles to order and most of all me and my Fiance love traveling and taking road trips in our Sprinter van and small travel trailer. When the kids have gone off to college in a few years our plan is to travel full time between Alaska and Mexico. Recently we took a three week road trip to Cabo San Lucas and back which was amazing. Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to be in the hospitality business and specifically a bed and breakfast so I guess this is my start. If you decide to book with me I will go out of my way to insure you have a pleasurable time and I will be available 24/7 via phone, text and email with any questions or concerns you may have.

I have a few listings so if one does not work out please take a look at my other ones.

Thank you for stopping by

- This trailer is located inside a very quiet vintage trailer park. After 7pm at night guests need to be very quiet with no loud music, shouting, drinking or partying - While driving in the vintage trailer park 5 mph is strictly enforced - There is parking for one vehicle on the space you rent. If you have guests ask me or Tom the manager where they can park. Parking on any black road / asphalt is not allowed. Even though I say this vintage trailer is fine for kids under 2 yrs old it has not been child proofed for a kid that young. As long as you keep an eye on them you they be fine
