The apartment is located in the old Podgorze neighborhood on the southern bank of the Vistula River, just steps from Oscar Schindler’s Factory, Museum of Contemporary Art Kraków (MOCAK).

As early as 1784 and until 1915, when it became a part of the city, Podgorze had independent town status. As a result, the neighborhood is home to buildings from four centuries, with its seventeenth-century town center. This architectural collage makes the neighborhood a unique part of Krakow, which has become the home of the local art community.

Currently filled with restaurants, bars, museums, and galleries, the neighborhood is also a monument to the tragic history of the Krakow Ghetto that was placed on 20 hectares of Podgorze. One of the three gates to the Ghetto was on Lwowska a block away. And if you walk down the street you may find flowers and candles below the remnants of the Ghetto's wall.

Hello!

I lived in Kraków for some years, and I love this city! Its vibrant nightlife and art scene, the humbling presence of its past.

I love climbing, traveling, trying new dishes, my research, and last but not least, coffee.

I currently live in the United States where I a postdoctoral fellow in a neuroscience lab. Whenever possible I like to travel and I found the opportunity to stay at someone’s house, and when possible, hear what they love about the places we visit to be enchanting. While miles away from Kraków, I decided to try sharing my home with all those curious travelers. As someone who identifies as a queer person, I felt it's really important to find a way for other LGBTQ community members to know there is a place where they are very welcome and safe despite the unsettling events in some parts of Poland, so I added the listing here.

I hope all your trips will be full of wonders!
