Warm and inviting, this two-story "skinny" has everything you need to relax in comfort. Sun-filled rooms with whimsical touches throughout and an outdoor patio perfect for grilling. A calming and peaceful retreat!

You have full access of the entire house, front and back yard, and driveway for off-street parking, except for one small room that I have designated for my personal use. I do still live at the house when I don’t have guests, so some drawers and closets contain my personal belongings. You are also welcome to store bikes and luggage in the garage.

You will have the home completely to yourself, but I am readily available and nearby if any problems should arise. As a Portland native, I am happy to share my recommendations for fun around town!

Located in Portsmouth, you’re smack dab in the middle of two great historic neighborhoods: St. Johns to the west (about 2 miles away) and Kenton to the east (2.5 miles away) St. John’s was once a separate town and retains an independent and unique vibe. Home to funky boutiques, cafes, a natural grocer, two movie theatres, and a food cart pod with fire pit and beer garden.

The University of Portland is just a few minutes’ drive down N. Portsmouth Ave. New Seasons, a locally owned grocery store, is a 10 minute walk from my home.

There are two bus lines (the 4 and 35) within a couple blocks from the house, but I recommend that you have a car. Buses may take a while to get into town. There is plenty of free on-street parking as well as a private driveway for your use. There is an Enterprise rental car company about a mile away. Car and ride share services like Car2Go, Uber, and Lyft operate in the area. Please feel free to bring your bikes along too, Portland is a very bike-friendly city!

The City of Portland requires AirBnB hosts to permit their spaces to make sure that the spaces are safe for you and to make sure that hosts collect our local lodging taxes. My space is fully permitted - my permit number is (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) HO

I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest on 10 acres of farmland. My family hosted a number of exchange students during my childhood which I loved. At age 12, I moved to Japan for two years and got to experience that myself. I came back to the States, and after graduating from college, returned to Japan to teach English to elementary and junior high school kids. Living abroad and traveling has cultivated a great passion for making connections with people from all walks of life.

Having been a guest and received so warmly by so many myself, I want to reciprocate that as I open up my North Portland home to fellow Airbnber’s. As a proud native, I am thrilled to share my love for this amazing city of Portland. Not only is Bridge City beautiful, but if you’re into food like me, there are endless opportunities for culinary adventures. I happen to think Portland is the perfect blend of eclectic neighborhoods throughout the city, with the rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast, mountains, and wine country just a short drive away.
