Beautiful Victorian House next to Denver Botanic Gardens, historic houses, big trees, 3 parks, but also close to nightlife! We provide organic breakfast items, including GF bread; and high quality shampoos/conditioners sans parabens.
2.5 miles to downtown Denver, & 1 block from the bus or bikes that can take you there.
Walking distance: Restaurants, market, coffee shop, Cheesman Park & City Park, Zoo, Museum of Nature and Science. Free on street parking out front.

Queen bedroom with full private bathroom (en suite) and a very comfortable, extra-deep pillow-top mattress, extra pillows. In the summer, we have a hammock, big shade trees, a gas grill, a large organic garden, and 8 "urban chickens" (no roosters!). In the winter, we have a fire pit under the pergola to drink wine or hot chocolate beside. Or, you can have your wine curled up in front of the wood fireplace in the living room.

It’s an old house, built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , so it still has some cracks and bumps (though it has been remodeled). But it’s full of color, comfort, and light, and still has the carved wood and leaded windows.

10 Great Things within walking distance:
1) Denver Botanic Gardens (1 block)
2) Denver B-Cycle Station (1 block!)
3) Cheesman Park (4 blocks) and Congress Park with pool (2 blocks)
4) City Park (6 blocks) (with the Denver Zoo, Nature and Science Museum, and lake with paddle boats)
5) Brand new Rec Center (4 blocks) with indoor pools, gym, basketball and volleyball courts
6) Tattered Cover Book Store (5 blocks) (along with Chipotle and Twist and Shout, Sei Film Center)
7) Liks Ice Cream (5 blocks)
8) North Cherry Creek boutique shops and excellent restaurants (10 blocks)
9) Bus stop to LoDo (Historic Downtown Denver) (1 block!) (this means museums, nightlife, REI, etc. are 15 to 20 minutes away on Route 10 bus).
10) Neighborhood restaurants, coffee shop, corner grocery (3-4 blocks)

7 great places to which you can bike in 5 to 10 minutes:

1) 17th Ave restaurants: St. Mark's Coffee House, The Thin Man (Denver bar locals love), Vine Street Pub and Brewery
2) Colfax restaurants and shows, including The Fillmore and The Bluebird Theater.
3) The Cherry Creek shopping and restaurant district, with upscale places and hamburger and beer joints that locals love (The Cherry Cricket!)
4) Whole Foods Grocery and King Soopers
5) Two farmers markets.
6) Downtown Denver (Ok, this takes 20 minutes, but I biked downtown to work every morning - and I still prefer it to driving, coz I don't have to look for parking!)
7) A bike path along Cherry Creek that will take you miles through Denver, or to Confluence Park, where you can watch folks practice kayaking.

We can direct you to restaurants we love. We like organic, healthy foods, but we’re also foodies and wine geeks (Brad is a sommelier). We always have a good wine selection if you like wine, as well as some of those great Colorado microbrews here at the house.

Main floor living room, dining room, kitchen, patios, outside gas grill and yard. This room has a private attached bath. The hosts and other guests don't use this bathroom - it's for you only.

Tea and coffee are available 24/7. A small fridge in the kitchen is available for guests to store their food. We also provide some simple breakfast basics for our guests.
The second floor and the garden level basement are off limits to guests.

Brad and I are in the separate basement apartment. We do sometimes have other guests upstairs and we all share the kitchen on the main floor.

We’re located in central Denver, one block from the Denver Botanic Gardens. It’s a neighborhood full of trees and old houses from the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ’s, like our house. But it also has quick and easy access to downtown Denver.

What we love about our neighborhood:

Restaurants and shops within walking/biking distance.

4 parks and the Denver Botanic Garden very nearby. City Park, 6 blocks away, has the zoo, the museum of nature and science, a lake to paddle-boat on. Jazz in the Park every Sunday evening in the summer.

Bike paths close to us.

The Route 10 bus to downtown Denver stops a block from our house. B-cycle bike rentals also a block away. And we have Car2go, Uber and Lyft here. Also, Denver recently added cute little scooters with Lime and Bird.

We still recommend renting a car if you want to go into the mountains.

The trip from DIA is about (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes. You can take the Supershuttle or a taxi if you want to be dropped at our door. The A-train goes from the airport to Union Station and you can take Uber or Lyft the remaining 3.5 miles to our house. (Or you can catch the Route 10 bus, which will take you to a stop 1 block from our house, but the bus can be a pain with luggage. Route 10 bus will always get you downtown later, though, to avoid parking!)

Speaking of Parking:
We have free on-street parking
Remember to check with us before parking on the street in the summer, because on some concert dates at the Denver Botanic Gardens, the year-round free parking becomes high-ticketed parking! You’ll need one of our guest passes on your dashboard.

1) Denver STR License # (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) BFN (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ) We are 420-friendly, but ask that you don't smoke in the house and are thoughtful about other guests.

Brad and I love Colorado, and have lived here for years. Brad is a sommelier, and has seriously ruined my ability to drink boxed wine. He specializes in Italian wine. He also loves to ski and can tell you about his favorite slopes. I love my bike, gardening, and good food. We're both foodies. And in general, if we can be outside in the midst of any place that's green and lovely - with special points if there are small, wild creatures about - we are happiest.

We've recently expanded our "urban farm" by including backyard chickens in the family. They are hilarious, delightful hens - all different. One might try to perch on the back of your patio chair and look over your shoulder at the book you're reading.

Like our hens, we are sociable types, love to have friends over. Guests tell us they love the house and outdoor space. Our lifestyle is relaxed and flexible, and we love to laugh. But we also will give you all the privacy and personal space you need for your vacation or visit in Denver.
