Port Severn is a popluar spot for cottage seekers - it is convenient to Toronto, being an easy drive via highway 400. It offers great boating, whether your preference is the Trent Severn Waterway or the open waters of Georgian Bay and it oozes with all things cottage country.

Tucked neatly on a dead end road is where you'll find Slip Away. As usual, we couldn't resist a little word play in our name for this cottage - Slip Away is located close to a Marina which, while it could serve your boating needs, may not be required since you have your own private dock and waterfront to use.

The cottage is cute and comfy. There is an open-concept living/dining/kitchen area, and the bedrooms and bathroom are set in behind them. The living room has a wood stove for cool nights and satellite TV for rainy day and evening entertainment.

The yard has plenty of room for outdoor entertainment. A generous sized grassy area is great for throwing a frisbee or football, a game of tag or whatever seizes the imagination. There is a small beach area for children with a sandy shallow walk in.

If you fancy some exploring, the area bristles with activity. Historic Midland-Penetanguishene and the Wye Marsh make a great day's outing. If you've never seen the marine railway at Big Chute it's worth a trip. Also, it's an easy walk to town for shopping, restaurants or ice cream cones, and you can watch the boats as they lock through at Historic Lock 45

The cottage is located on a point on Gloucester Pool, a 13-kilometre, island speckled lake that is a part of the Trent Severn Waterway. The waters are good for swimming, fishing and boating, and access to the waterway gives you the opportunity to boat pretty well anywhere. Entry to the water varies, and there is a shallow and sandy area for waders and children. Deeper water swimming is available further out.

We are a friendly, family oriented rental agency here in Ontario. We can't wait to match up our gorgeous cottages to families and small groups who share our love of cottage country. We've personally visited every property (it's a tough job, but someone has to do it!), and can share our thoughts on whether it's the right one for your group. All our cottages are privately owned by people who want to share their little piece of paradise with their guests. We make sure they have all the bells and whistles you need to make a great vacation, and ensure each cottage meets our standards - and your expectations. Composition of Parties and Age Limits
We primarily provide family holidays and it is our policy not to accept bookings from groups of young people under the age of 25 and some groups comprising all-adults. This policy is not intended to be discriminatory, but is merely to protect our cottage owners' interests and to meet the requirements of their rental insurance policies.
Payment Policy
Reservations shall be confirmed in writing by the Agency on payment of a deposit and applicable booking fee by credit card or cheque.

Receipt of any deposit prior to the Agency's written confirmation of the reservation shall not constitute acceptance of any booking.

The balance shall be payable 45 days prior to the commencement of the vacation by cheque, money order or email money transfer.

Where the Rental Period commences within 45 days of the reservation, or is less than a week in duration, full payment is required on booking.

All payments shall be made to the Agency by credit card, cheque, money order or email money transfer. (Visa or Mastercard only)

Once a reservation is received and accepted by The Agent, The Guest is liable for payment of the balance of the rental fee, plus any additional charges, 45 days before occupation of the property. Non-payment by the due date will be treated as a cancellation and the deposit will be forfeited.
Refundable Damage Deposit
The Lead Guest agrees to provide a valid credit card number as a guarantee for up to $1,500:

To pay all outstanding long distance phone charges, overage on WiFi usage in excess of the stated limits, and accept any and all liability for any damage beyond normal wear and tear (for those items not covered by the Accidental Damage Protection Plan) during the term of the Rental Period.
Cancellation Policy
Once a reservation has been accepted and confirmed, a cancellation can only be made in accordance with the terms below:
· If the period of rental can be re-booked, a refund for the period re-rented, less a cancellation fee of $150 (plus HST) will be issued.
· If any part of the rental period cannot be re-booked, the Renter will forfeit all monies paid for that period.

Once a reservation has been accepted by The Agent the reservation can only be changed to another cottage by treating the original reservation as a cancellation.

Getting around

Cottage Country does not have public transportation. You will need your own automobile to get there and get around.
